In my New Literacies and Media class I learned about Project Based Inquiry. Along with my partners we engaged students in their writing by using technology. Students were excited to use the Chatterpix app to bring life to their characters. I continue to use technology in writing to engage students to share their writing. My students are currently using Storyjumper to write stories.
Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge or TPACK is a framework developed by Koehler and Mishra (2008) for integrating technology into the classroom. When designing a lesson, the standards and content is the driving point. The next step is to look at what instructional strategies and technologies can be used to support the standards and content. Technology is aligned with curriculum goals. Technology use supports instructional strategies, and strategies support technology.
We also explored many different technology "Cool Tools" to use in our classes for student involvement and motivation. EDpuzzle is a free program and great to use for presen- tations and student assignments.
Social Media is here -So use it as another tool to make the classroom more engaging, relevant, and culturally diverse.
